Postpartum Low Back Pain
The low back is common both during and after pregnancy. When you experience during either of these periods, it is important to get your pelvic floor evaluated. Often weakness and poor coordination of the pelvic floor occur which could be a contributing cause to low back pain.
Postpartum Hip Pain
Hip pain can occur both during and after pregnancy. Postpartum hip pain can be a result of a traumatic delivery. Often weakness and poor coordination of the pelvic floor muscles occur which could be a contributing cause to hip pain.
Postpartum Pubic Symphysis Pain
Pubic symphysis pain or symphysis pubic dysfunction (SPD) occurs in the front of the pelvis. Many muscles attach here such as pelvic floor muscles and hip adductors (groin muscles).
Pelvic girdle pain is a combination of sacroiliac joint pain and pelvic girdle pain.

Sacroiliac joint pain occurs in back of our pelvis around where our “back dimples” are.
This is very common when returning to sexual intimacy after the delivery of your baby. This could be caused by many things, but often pelvic floor muscles are overactive.
